I was at my favorite local bookstore today, Apple Blossom Books, and I asked for the expertise of the lady running the store. I explained to her that at least half of my female high school students are reading the Twilight series as part of their independent reading. I also shared with her that many of you are rereading the series partly because you are unsure of what else to read. Sense and Sensibility
by Jane Austen (Paperback - April 29, 2004)Apparently this Sense and Sensibility is one of Bella's favorites. You're likely more aware of movies based on Jane Austin's novels. If you've seen either of the following, you might also enjoy the books: Pride and Prejudice and Emma.
The Host: A Novel
by Stephenie Meyer (Hardcover - May 6, 2008)Book recommended for obvious reasons...

Lastly, a recommendation from my wife. She's a sucker for sappy stories and movies.

I'm reluctant to admit this, but I spent 3 hours compiling this list, and that's not including the time I spent in the store.
The main problem is that it is very difficult to make blog posts with multiple pictures and long passages of text. Blogger just starts to go crazy.
I'm just wondering if it was worth it. Had you already heard of these books? Do these books interest you at all?
Would you rather move on to books that are completely different than Twilight?

1. I never knew that book store existed in oshkosh until I went there the other day with my grandma.
2. I will definitely look into those books when I get the time because they sound like ones I would like to read. Therefore, all your hard work wasn't completely wasted! ;]
