The couple in The Company We Keep: A Husband-and-Wife True-Life Spy Story had to carry out many missions that were hard to accept. They had to trust that the CIA knew what was best for them and best for the country. It reminds me of one of my favorite sections of scripture from Joshua 1 in which God commands Joshua to be strong as he takes over for Moses.

Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
