(Graphic Design) Welcome to Graphic Design (January 20, 2013)

• Intro to the class.

• A Design I Like Presentation
• For tomorrow find something that you like the design of and bring it to class. 
• You will give a 1-2 minute presentation on what makes it a good design to you
• Think about what intents and purposes the designer may have had
• This can be a tie or shirt, a box of cereal or other product packaging, a magazine ad, or anything else that was designed. 
• It should be something physical that you could pass around or walk around while you talk about it. 
• After we learn about the presentation, I'd like you to open up Adobe Illustrator (Start>All Programs>Adobe...). Mr. Strusz will teach you a few basics of the program, with emphasis on the pen tool.
• If we have time at the end, we will play Pen Tool Charades.
