Mr. Strusz's 2010 Reading Blog Debut

Class MattersThe Elements of Journalism: What Newspeople Should Know and The Public Should Expect
This week I've spent approximately 2.5 hours reading two books, neither of which I've completed.

I've read at least 2/3 of Class Matters and only the first chapter of The Elements of Journalism:.I'll write a full review of both books once completed.

The former was to help me teach about social stratification in sociology, and the latter is helping me get a better understanding of the state of journalism as it is today.

My Sociology students had to read part of Class Matters. It was a chapter about the college dropout rates in America. I hope it convinced most of them that college is more important than they thought before.

That is most priceless thing about reading. A good book should give you a new perspective on something. How has the book you've been reading affected your view of life?

Total Time: 2.5 Hours
