Review of Class Matters by the Writers of the New York Times

Class Matters is a book written by various New York Times writers. They were commissioned to write a series on how class affects everyday life in America.

The story was informative, instructive, and at times very sad. The story of Ms. Whitaker was by far the most inspiring story. She moved from being a drug addicted single mother in the projects, to a college degree and nursing job in the heart of Chicago.

It was interesting to learn how class affects everything from parenting to the way people view their own self worth.

I would recommend this story to students or teachers of sociology or anyone who is doubtful that money has an affect on our lives.

This video below previews the story I'm currently reading. The full review should be up soon. I'm enjoying the book so much that I'm having trouble putting it away.

I spent about 4.5 hours reading this week. 1 hour finishing Class Matters - 3 hours starting Searching for Whitopia: An Improbable Journey to the Heart of White America - 30 minutes reading I am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to be Your Class President.

Total Time: 9.5 Hours
