New Project: Textures and Infographics

What is an infographic? First follow these links.
  1. http://mashable.com/2012/07/09/how-to-create-an-infographic/ - Describes what an infographic is, and gives some great tips on how to build one.
  2. Go on a web search for infographics. Try searching the word infographics with other words such as: history infographics, technology infographics, social media infographics, etc.
  3. Infographics are usually rectangular, and often tall, in nature. (Recommended) On a page of paper, sketch out 3 potential ideas for an infographic.
    1. Your info graphic could be in any of the following topic areas.
      1. Portray historic information
      2. Portray statistics about Americans or another culture (EX: How much we read)
      3. Interesting statistics about anything: Sports, Fashion, Individuals, Your Favorite Band
      4. Try the Random Word Generator for ideas

A FEW REQUIREMENTS..

Your infographic must....

1. Be Original - If you're copying another infographic, I WILL make you start over.

    • You can use an infographic for inspiration that is NOT of your topic.
    • Example: Find a cool infographic about trains, make a similar styled infographic about Michael Jackson.
    • DO NOT find an infographic about trains, and make an identical infographic about trains. Get it? GOOD!

2. Contain at least 5 facts, of which visual representation is the main mode of communication.
3. Use at least 3 photoshop cutouts.
4. Use some form of texture in the design (we will do a mini-lesson on using textures early next week)
