If you haven't already, finish your Parts of a Computer Analogy.
Friday, we are going to do our first mouse-less challenge.
The challenge will run as follows.
For Friday:
- Login
- Open Chrome
- Open Wikipedia.com
- Open MrStrusz.com in a new tab
- Open the start menu and Open up Microsoft Word
- Open a new document
- Switch back to MrStrusz.com
- Pick a topic talked about on MrStrusz.com
- Switch to your wikipedia tab, search that word on Wikipedia.
- Open the page for that particular word topic
- Do a find search in internet explorer and search for one of the words in the title of your topic
- Take notice of how many matches you found for that word, phrase.
- Go back into your word document and type: The word ________ appears ____ times on Wikipedia's page for ______________.
- Go back to the Wikipedia page. Find the third instance of the previously searched word, type the full sentence that the third mention of the word is contained in.
- Save as, LASTNAME Mouse Challenge 1
- Go to a google docs folder that will be linked (Practice with this one).
- Upload
If you can complete these with NO HELPS - A+, Every time Mr.
Strusz has to come for a help, 1/3 grade deduction (A+ to A to A- to B+, etc).
Why not use the mouse for many of these tasks? Any time
you're typing, and can jump to the next task without going to your mouse,
you've saved time. Time is money. I'm just trying to save you some money.
