1. (First 10 minutes) Mr. Strusz will take you through 7 points of good logo design (adapted from LogoDesignLove)
- Keep it Simple
- Make it Relevant
- Incorporate Tradition
- Aim for Distinction
- Commit to Memory
- Think Small
- Focus on One Thing
2. Next 15 minutes, use the random word generator, or the logo you started a week ago using the same process, and refine it to focus on simplicity and distinction especially. SAVE YOUR RESULTS, YOU WILL HAND THIS ONE IN.
3. (Thinking Ahead) I'll give you only 15 minutes to finish this (see below) tomorrow, so start it with the remaining time today (if we have any) in a google doc or word document.....
4. You just received $200,000 to help you open a business. Think about the business you would open, and type/write a paragraph that would answer some of the following questions/suggestion.
What would you name it (make it somewhat original)? What is the mission of your business or
charity (what would it exist to do)? What colors do you envision being in the
logo of your business? Who
do you see as your customers? Is there
any specific imagery you would like in your logo? What adjectives would describe the ideal logo
for this business/charity? Your Name You are essentially typing up a design request that introduces the designer to your business.
PRINT BY 2:05
At 2:05, I will randomly hand out your business descriptions at 2:10ish, and between 2:10-2:35...
SKETCH 4 COMP SKETCHES ON THE SHEET (With a pencil)
TODAY
Ask them for suggestions.
You have until Friday to make those two logos the best you can. Upload them to your (01 - Logo Week). Put them on the same AI file as two different artboards. If you finish early, try making 4 versions. If you finish 4 versions, finish your experimental logo from Monday.
Logos should be all vector.
Put a doc file in the folder where you describe what you designed, and what you think you did well with the logos.
